Buying the most popular optic without confirming fit is how otherwise good gear becomes an expensive compromise.
Think about the distances available inside your home. Most residential spaces do not call for high magnification. Hallways, doorways, stairs, and common rooms favor a clear, quick reference point over a large scope with complex controls. That makes a quality red dot the natural starting point for many home-defense firearms.
